Due Date, Schmoo date.

Today is August 1.

Nothin.

I am going to take someone's advice and try to get stuck in an elevator with The L. I wish there was a cab-driver from New York here - they are always having women go into labor when the preggo ladies get in the back.

By the way, this will not become a "baby-journal"... as soon as the clog is out of the drain I'll probably start a new journal for me to tell stories about her in, and in that one I will be a little more careful about my identity.

This journal will continue to be about the regular crap that it usually is about, only I will have less hair.

Hmm... if only there was some way we could cause a major snowstorm to hit on the same night that you have to give a once-in-a-lifetim presentation to, oh, let's say Donny and Marie.

"When the clog is out of the drain" is simultaneously the most awful, and the most hilarious, euphemism for delivery that I've ever heard. A clog the size of a bowling ball coming out of a drain the size of something considerably smaller is quite a mental image, even considering that I've been the drain. (And the clog, but I don't remember that so it doesn't count.)

I hope The L gets to see her feet again very soon...

From what I understand - babies rarely come on the day they're supposed to. Most times they are early or late.

I'm tellin' ya - she should hold it till the 28th. That would rock.

Oh, girlfriend!~ And you know, it's always the doctor's fault.

When we were expecting Junior, I had 4:

December 14th
January 13th
December 28th
January 10th

The December 28th date was the date we were given after our sonogram when I was 5 months along.

So... he was either very late, or right on time. LOL!

Some people believe first babies are notoriously early.

Some people believe first babies are notoriously late.

I subscribe to the latter. If the baby isn't here in a few days, it's time to put every old wives' tale you've ever heard into practice. LOL

"The clog becomes the drain"

It's kind of like a metaphor for life.
